FRANKFURT, Germany—The Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company, accompanied by the Shen Yun Touring Company Orchestra gave its final performance at Frankfurt's Jahrhunderthalle on Sunday, March 14.
An enthusiastic audience honored the artists with lots of applause throughout the show and resounding applause before the final curtain was drawn after three curtain calls.
The light rain did not keep the Vukovic family from seeing the Shen Yun, with its promise of a traditional Chinese culture show. What drew them to the show were the advertisement that promised a colorful show that brought Chinese stories, from past to present through dance, song and music.
Gabriella Vukovic, Kenzo's mother had seen advertisements about the show and met up with ladies dressed in Chinese traditional costumes at the Shen Yun promotional booth. As a former ballerina, who still dances a little, she was impressed with what she saw on stage.
"I loved the dances. The costumes and colors were just what I know about Chinese dance characteristics. The colors were dazzling and the costumes were very unusual," she said.
Father Dean and grandfather Ivo Vukovic are owners of the NLS-Euro Company, an international airfreight service. The family brought along little Kenzo who loves classical Chinese music.
The family is familiar with Chinese culture, as Asian employees shared with them their culture.
"I loved the show," said grandfather Ivo Vukovic.
"We came because of our grandson who suffers from autism, because he loves everything colorful and anything to do with dance," said grandfather Ivo during intermission.
He then said with a very pleased voice, knowing that they had made the right decision to buy the tickets, "Kenzo loved the show. I watched him and noticed that he was quiet during the entire show and he concentrated very well on what was shown on stage."
Little Kenzo said "Bravo," indicating that he realized they were talking about how he liked the show and wanted to have his opinion heard.
