City Assembly Member: The Dreamland Seems to Become a Reality

NISHINOMIYA, Japan—When the Now York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts’ final show in Japan came to a close at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center, on March 17, the Japanese audiences were so moved that they waved their hands to the performers time and again and looked forward to the show next year.

After seeing the show, Ikeda City Assembly member Ms. Yoshie Arai exclaimed, "The colors used in Shen Yun were rich and vibrant. It is a bold choice, which cannot be seen in Japan. The coordination between the backdrops and the dancers was so wonderful that the backdrops added to the enjoyment of the dance. The design of the backdrops was fantastic. The deities, Buddhas and heavenly beauties descending from the sky and appearing on the stage made the audience feel as if the dreamland had become a reality.”

"As many elements of Japanese culture originated in China, this show made us feel Chinese culture is very warm and is full of humanity. The performance had many spiritual connotations,” she added.

She also said that she liked the legendary stories in Shen Yun very much. "Although there was no vocal expression in the show, they were easy for the audience to understand. I think the programs about legendary stories are part of the reasons why the show is so popular…..The coordination of the live orchestra and dancers was perfect,” she continued.
